What To Donate
We gladly accept donations of good quality furniture, electrical items, household goods and other items in a suitable condition to sell on and to donate to those in need across the District. Please don't forget to Gift Aid your household donations too!
Whilst we fully accept items will show signs of use, we can’t accept items that are damaged, dirty or stained. The general rule of thumb is ‘would you consider buying it?’
There are also a few other rules around items we are not able to take due to legislation:
Any upholstered items (mattresses, sofa etc.) without a fire retardant labelling attached to it
We are not able to accept the following items:
safety equipment e.g. car seats (including those in a 3 way pushchair system), bicycle helmets in case they have been involved in an accident and other safety helmets
gas equipment and appliances
cots and bunkbeds
high chairs and pushchairs without a 5 point harness
white good appliances
video players, DVDs, CDs, cassettes
pianos, snooker tables
We provide furniture and essential household items to homeless residents moving in to permanent/temporary accommodation. We are therefore always requiring donations of beds, mattresses, chest of drawers and wardrobes; please contact our offices to arrange a collection of your items, 0300 1240204 ( from 1st April)
We do offer a large collection service please do contact us for further information.
We are kindly donated unwanted furniture and other household items from homes and other organizations across the district.
Through our charitable work we aim to encourage re-use of items and therefore reduce the number of items going to landfill.
What happens to the items you donate?
We sort, clean and test items to ensure they are working; they are then sent to be sold at our Charity Superstore, as well as giving furniture and other essential household items to residents in Horsham facing crisis (criteria applies to ensure we give to those most in need).
Some items are not suitable for re-use and we always consider options to recycle items to reduce environmental impact, including for example, metal and scrap materials recycling.
Unfortunately, we are unable to process some items, such as clothes which we pass directly on to other charities for distribution to Romania and Botswana etc.. We also support local charities with items such as baby equipment and clothing.
Please contact us immediately, so we can rearrange your collection, if any of the below applies to you/anyone in your household:

Have tested positive for Covid-19 within 14 days
Been instructed to self-isolate.
We respectfully ask that when we are making a collection that all areas are well ventilated, and occupants maintain/respect social distancing at all times. All drivers will be wearing PPE.
